Von 1985 bis 1995 war die Hauptstadt des Bundesstaates Südaustralien der Gastgeber des Grand Prix von Australien, der stets als letzter Lauf der Formel 1-Weltmeisterschaft ausgetragen wurde. Viele berühmte Fahrer gewannen auf diesem einmaligen Strassenkurs, der mittelschnell ist und teilweise über eine Pferderennbahn führt. Doch ab 1996 wechselte der Grand Prix von Australien in den Albert Park von Melbourne. Jetzt aber kommt Adelaide, mit seinem Original Grand Prix-Kurs, zurück auf die internationale Motorsportbühne. Diesmal mit einem 6 Stunden Langstreckenrennen, das nach dem Reglement des brühmten 24 Stunden Rennens von Le Mans in Frankreich ausgetragen wird. Eine Reihe ehemaliger Formel 1-Fahrer nimmt daran teil.

From 1985 to 1995 the capital auf Australian federal state of South Australia, Adelaide, was the host of the Australian Grand Prix always being the last round of the Formula One worldschampionship. Many famous drivers won on this extraordinary street circuit being middle-fast and partly leading through a race course. But from 1996 on the Australian Grand Prix switched to the Albert Park of Melbourne. Now Adelaide is back on the stage of international motorsport, this time with a 6 hours endurance race held under the regulations of the famous 24 Hours Race of Le Mans in France. A lot of former Formula On drivers are taking part in.
