JOCHEN RINDT

The Austrian orphan was the best Formula 2 driver ever. He was the dominating figure of this category of single seater racing only comparable to Jim Clark and Formula One. Between 1964 and 1970 he won 29 great Formula 2 events and was both British and French champion in 1967. Rindt had started his career with a privately entered Brabham Cosworth to join Winkelmann Racing later partnered by Alan Rees. At the end of the sixties Rindt founded a Formula 2 team of his own with Bernie Ecclestone as the company´s co-owner.
