Am 15. September 2001 fand auf dem EuroSpeedway Lausitz das deutsche Gegenstück zu den berühmten 500 Meilen von Indinapolis statt. Auf dem 2 Meilen (3,2 Kilometer) langen Tri-Oval traten die Piloten der FedEx Champ Car Serie zu ihrem 16. Meisterschaftlauf im Jahr 2001 an.
Der Eurospeedway Lausitz, Mitte 2000 fertigestellt, liegt vor den Toren der deutschen Hauptstadt Berlin und ist die modernste Rennstrecke in ganz Europa.

On September 15th, 2001 at the Eurospeedway Lausitz the German equivalent of the famous 500 Miles of Indianapolis tooke place. On the 2 miles long tri-oval the drivers of the FedEx Champ Car Series competed in the 16th round of their 2001 championship.
The EuroSpeedway Lausitz, it´s construction finished in mid-2000, lies in front of the gates of German capital Berlin and is currently the most modern race track all over Europe.
